Mary Ann Brehm, PhD has taught Mettler-based dance to students of all ages since 1978. She was a teaching assistant, dance company member, and student of Barbara Mettler’s over a span of twenty years.The material for this book draws upon her transcriptions of Mettler’s 1978 teaching as documented in Barbara Mettler Teaching Dance , Mettler’s own writings, and her experiences working with Barbara Mettler. Mary Ann co-teaches Mettler Studios’ Dance Teacher Training and presents Mettler-based workshops widely. She is the co-author of Creative Dance and Learning: Making the Kinesthetic Link , published by Princeton Books. Her PhD in Dance is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
